Cost and Insurance
What to ask before the first visit
Why to ask about cost early
Insurance questions are easier before treatment than after a claim goes wrong. This page should not try to predict anyone’s exact bill. It should help patients ask the right questions early.
ACTIONABLE STEPS
Get organized before your first session
Call both the treating center and your insurer before the first session. Keep notes. Get names and reference numbers when possible.
Questions for your insurer
Is this center in network?
Do I need prior authorization?
How many sessions are approved?
What will I owe before my deductible is met?
Are labs, imaging, or line placement handled separately?
What do I do if a claim is denied?
Best habit
Best habit: make one page of notes and bring it to every visit.
